Gatineau’s Club Skinouk will host the best cross country skiers from the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario at the Eastern Canadian Championships February 11, 12, 13, 2011. With the support of Cross Country Canada, this competition has been added to the Haywood Canada Cup, which permits competitors to accumulate points for Canadian standings. Club Skinouk takes over from Nakkertok Ski Club, in Ontario, host of the 2010 Eastern Canadian Championships.

 

This race will still have additional importance for Quebecers and Ontarians as Ski de fond Québec and Cross Country Ontario, the provincial sport organizations for skiing, have agreed to hold one round of their respective provincial cup series at the Eastern Canadians.

 

Races will be held on Nakkertok-South trails in Cantley QC. Close to 600 competitors are expected to participate.
